The Team
| The biggest Stilt-Theatre in Northern Germany was founded in 1997 by Birgit Maschler and Comedy-Juggler Bjoern de Vil. Within the next few years the little two-person-company grew to what it is now. Ten artists, supported by a ballet dancer and a light technician, work constantly together to create new acts. While the first costumes were created by Birgit and Björn themselves, today the costume designer company "Coleur and Co" of Hamburg under the management of Constance Schuster (who is also working for the "Semper Opera Dresden", the "Hamburger Schauspielhaus" and the Musical " The lionking") creates new and more sophisticated costumes. The trademark of the TRAUMTÄNZER Stilt-Theatre is a combination of fresh humour, dreamy choreographies and stand-up comedy. The actors enjoy turning spontaneous situations into little sketches that actively involve the audience. The usually passive spectator will suddenly find himself in the middle of the action and for a few minutes appears as the main character on a fictitious stage. But the artistic aspect is only one side of the stiltdancers, the athletic challenge is the other. Thanks to flexing aluminium stilts, the TRAUMTÄNZER are always on the move, they are spinning, jumping and dancing. The fun of the movement and the joy of evoking a smile in people's faces turn every performance into a likewise special event for the stiltdancers themselves. |
